Gokyo Lakes Trek
Gokyo Valley Lakes Trek is the adventurous trekking trip into the undisturbed Himalayan Gokyo valley in the Everest Region. The trek is also important to explore the highest fresh water lakes spread in numbers throughout the region.
Gokyo valley and sacred Gokyo Lakes are situated in the Sagarmatha National Park at an altitude of 4700m plus height. Hindu and Buddhist people visit the sacred Gokyo Lakes during the occasion of JanaiPurnima Festival in August and take holy bath. The valley is also one of the famous tourist destinations for adventure trekking.
Gokyo Valley (4790m) is one of the optimum trekking destinations to experience the astounding view of glorious Himalayas. After the trek to the Everest base camp now the trail leads on the way to Dzongla. A challenging trip will be followed across the Cho La pass where you can enjoy small icefall and steep passes through the glaciers. Copious magnificent views of Everest region is embraced in this pass. Getting ahead the trail leads to the awesome Gokyo lakes and Gokyo Valley.
The Gokyo trek is immensely miraculous to which from the summit it provides the best view of Cho-Oyu, Everest, Gyanchun Kang, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawachee and a number of exceptional lakes in the valley. The exceptional vista of falling rays on the snowcapped mountains shows it to be decorated from Silver and Gold which can be observed to the summit of Gokyo Ri.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival and Meet day at the Kathmandu Airport
Day 02: Early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2850m), 40 minute and Trek start to Phakding (2610m), 3/4 hour
Day 03: Trek Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3444m), 5/6 hour
Day 04: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar and visit Everest View Hotel
Day 05: TrekNamche Bazaar to Dole, 5/6 hour
Day 06: Trek Dole to Gokyo Lake, 4/5 hour and visit the View Point
Day 07: Trek back Gokyoto Dole, 4/5 hour
Day 08: Trek back Dole to Namche Bazaar,5/6 hour
Day 09: Trek back Namche Bazaarto Phakding, 4/5 hour
Day 10: Trek back Phakding toLukla, 2/3 hour
Day 11: Early flight fromLuklaback to Kathmandu and few hours Rest.Make special shopping day in Kathmandu
Day 12: Make Rest and shopping day in Kathmandu and evening farewell dinner
Day 13: Departure international from Kathmandu
