Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is the popular trekking that takes you to holy lake situated in Langtang Region. Langtanglies to the north of the Kathmandu valley bordering the Tibet. Langtang is protected as Langtang National Park where the area is covered with 25% of the forest. Tamang and Sherpa are the major inhabitants of the Langtang region. The Gosaikunda Lake situated in the Langtang National Park and many vegetation, wildlife are the attractions of the trekking in Langtang region.
Lantang valley, the third most popular trekking region in Nepal is sheltered as Langtang National Park. The valley is situated in the northeast of Kathmandu having the most conspicuous feature in climatic contrast. Within a short distance, the landscape, flora and fauna found here wins the heart of every trekker. This region more offers the opportunity to explore Tamang village, the sacred lake of Gosaikunda and the immense vision of Langtang Lirung (7245m), Ganesh Himal (7146m) DorjeLhakpa (6990) peaks which is as reward to the trekkers.
The famous Langtang Himal lies in the region, north of Kathmandu and just south of Tibetan border. The valley is enclosed by high peaks of great appeal and has become renowned ever since the British mountaineer Bill Timanillustrated it as the most fine-looking valley in the world. The Shisapangma or Gosaithan (8027m) in Tibet is found to be the highest peak view from this area. The route from the Langtang valley to Gosaikunda is full of multiciplity and it is drawing many tourists to visit. The valley is also recognized as the treasure home of Alpine plants so for the period of summer the intact valley is covered with flower. Tamang inhabitant of this region has the religious practices; language and dress are much more parallel to Tibetan.
Gosaikunda, one of the eminent Hindu holy place and is regarded to be made by Lord Shiva. Every August on Full Moon Night Lake is heaped with pilgrims for a big festival called “JanaiPurnima”. On other days the lake sits in calm at environment. This is the most easily accessible of all areas from Kathmandu which lies about 70Km from its north. As a whole, once you come for trek in Lantang you will certainly come again and again.
First we welcome you to home of Mt. Everest, Nepal, country of Himalayas. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport our representative will welcome you and assists to transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. You will have to make rest day in Kathmandu. Make permit day and you can look around in Kathmandu valley or make Sightseeing tour in the Kathmandu valley. After time to get refreshed, evening you will meet and transfer for the welcome dinner in any comfortable restaurant in Kathmandu and short briefing about your trip and overnight hotel. We meet early morning and start our trekking trip.
Drive Land cruiser Jeep for 7/8 hour or local bus with many local people. That way we take Land cruiser. After breakfast we drive on a northern highway that twists and climbs over mountain ridges to the Trishuli valley. The journey will take 7-8 hours through picturesque landscapes, mountain scenery and local villages. On the way we have magnificent views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Mt Kerung of Tibet. Overnight relax at a local teahouse in Syabrubesi.
After breakfast we start to walk own our pace and the trail ascends for around two hours through the forest followed by a climb of about an hour to reach Bamboo village (1,850m) where we stop for hot lunch. This forested path with well stabilized trails and following the upstream and can be seen birds life around the bushes. Bee hives hanging on a cliff are another attraction for the visitors. From here we again steeply climb through the bamboo forest to reach the Lama Hotel for overnight.
Today we have a pleasant walk and follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest for around three hours to reach GhoraTabela where we stop for lunch. The surrounding area is dense wild habitat and many small babblers with lot of herbal can be found here. After lunch we walk another three hours on the scenic trail takes us to Langtang village where we stop for the evening.
After breakfast this morning we leave the village and start our trek leisurely for around three to four hours to visit KyanjingGompa. From here we have beautiful views of Mt Ganchempo and Langtang Lirung. Evening we are free for visiting the surrounding areas like Yak cheese Factory, Monastery and local houses.
This morning we retrace our steps somewhat as we head back from the Gompa. We have an easy downhill and pleasant walk through the rhododendron forest to Lama Hotel where we rest for the night before continuing our journey next day for the ThuloSyabru village.
Today our trail leads again through bamboo & rhododendron forest where we may see the local wild boar as well as other animal and birds on the route to ThuloSyabru. En route we have marvelous and close-up view of Ganesh Himal. Firstly easy downhill follows the river bank but last part steeply uphill for couple of hours to get to the village at ThuloSyabru.
Today we walk around 4-5 hours through dense forest of pine and rhododendron to reach Sing Gompa (Chandan Bari) which is our overnight spot. The trail from here is mostly uphill with typically Himalayan terrain and last few hours remaining forested with open areas giving excellent views when looking back the way we have come. After arrival in hotel refreshed and enjoy visiting cheese factory as well as terrain forested landscape.
Today we follow a wonderful trail to reach at holy Gosainkunda Lake passing through Cholagpati and Lauribinayak. This area is the homeland of the Tamangs and Bhotias and even a short time spent here provides an insight into their rural mountain lifestyles and the cultural contrasts between Hindu and Buddhist villages. Evening we are able to simply relax or take a stroll around the lake and surrounding area.
After crossing the Lauribinayak pass (4610m) trail descends through stone path and forest to reach Ghopte.
From here trail continues ups and down through forest and walking in ridge of hill. You can have a good view of Helambu and Tadhi Valley.
Trail descends all the way to Patibhanjang. From here climb uphill for 2hours to reach chisopani. In a good day you can have another spectacular views of mountain from Annapurna range to Everest.
After chisopani trail goes uphill for one hour till Bhanjang through forest. From Bhanjang trail descends all the way to Sundarijal via forest and several villages along the way. Bus ride will take about one hour from Sundarijal to Kathmandu. Evening farewell dinner and Nepali cultural program in a Nepali restaurant.

Or any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you will be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your home country.
