Lower Dolpo Trek Description
Lower Dolpo trek is the off beaten adventure to the land of Dolpo where the Oscar nominated film named Caravan by Eric Valli was shoot.Dolpa or Dolpo is a remote but beautiful place in the western Nepal and its northern part is bordered with Tibet. The genuine Tibetan culture and tradition is still preserved by the people of Dolpo. Shey Phoksundo Lake is the major destination to trek but many things to explore.
The Lower Dolpo Trek is meant for real adventurers wishing for an off-the-beaten-trekking trail experience. The trekking route was opened for the foreigners only in 1990. The trek passes through Shey-Phoksundo National Park with spectacular mountain scenery, Buddhist monasteries and yak caravans. Our trek takes us through a wooded area, then load through rugged canyons in the barren plateau near the border with Tibet. Then we take our flight to Jhupal via Nepalgunj. Experience the high altitude tundra and rocks and the microclimate of Lower Dolpo and Phoksumdo with the cold air of the glaciers of Kanjiroba.

Day 01:Arrival and Meet day at the Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel
Day 02:Full day sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley, overnight at hotel
Day 03:Flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, overnight at Hotel
Day 04:Flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal and trek to Sulighat, overnight at camp(2282m)
Day 05:Trek Sulighatto Shyanta,overnight at camp(2520m)
Day 06:Trek Shyanta to Shey – Phoksundo Lake, overnight at camp(3337m)
Day 07:Rest day at Shey- Phoksundo Lake, overnight at camp
Day 08:Trek Shey- Phoksundo to Baga La Base Camp (3982m),overnight at camp
Day 09:Trek Baga La Base Camp to Numa La Base Camp. After crossing Baga La pass (4440m), overnight at camp
Day 10:Trek Numa La Base Camp to KakarGumba. After crossing Numa La Pass (4290m), overnight at camp
Day 11:Trek from KakarGumba crossing Numa La Pass to DhoTarap(3944m), overnight at camp
Day 12:Rest day at DhoTarap, overnight at camp
Day 13:Trek DhoTarap to Nawarpani(3475m), overnight at camp
Day 14:Trek Nawarpani to Lahini(3370m), overnight at camp
Day 15:Trek Lahini to Tarakot(2537m), overnight at camp
Day 16:Trek Tarakot to Dunai(2140m), overnight at camp
Day 17:Trek Dunai to Juphal(2475m), overnight at camp
Day 18:Flight from Juphal to Nepalgunj and again flight back to Kathmandu,overnight at Hotel
Day 19:Rest and shopping day in Kathmandu, evening farewell dinner
Day 20:Departure from Kathmandu to your home country
